I need some advice, my year and a half old piggy Winnie has a sore
nose. It is kind of crusty down from her nose, like its been runny.
She seems normal otherwise and I haven't noticed her sneezing or
coughing, and the nose doesn't ever seem wet and runny. Should I go to
the vet? I seem to be there all the time with one of my other little
ones. Any advie would be welcomed thank you. Susie

Not an expert, but sounds like a skin disease...mange, mites or
something along that line.

Unless you are experienced treating small animals probably best if you
take to a vet that has experience with guinea pigs. Not all vets do,
call before you go. :)

I had a pig who had a crusty nose and it turned out to be a
manifestation of mycosis.Yellow/brown dry crust. If it is you might
need to get griseofulvin. Is there any dandruff/scurf on the skin or
any lesions anywhere on the body? Is the coat greasy? Vets are usually
not very good with guineas you need to see a small animal expert/
rodentologist.

Take the pig to a vet for an absolute diagnosis.
