[/u][/i][/b][b][i][u] hi i gotten a new guinea pig from pet shop she is suppose to have babies she tries to bite me does that mean she is going to have babies and how can i tell when she will have them my other guineapigs dont bite they love for me to hold them

my guinea pig was like that when she was pregnant.
i think carrying her is stressful for her. you should carry her less especially when she's close to giving birth.

to know if she is pregnant, check if she's eating and drinking more, if her body has grown, you would also feel her babies when you touch the sides of her stomach (this would be felt at about 7 weeks during her pregnancy)

some of the signs that a guinea pig maybe close to giving birth are: eating less and nesting

bare patch at base of guineapig spine - Could someone please tell me what the bare patch is at the end/base of the spine is on the gineau pig. I deas i have come up with include scent gland, tail stump? As not sure if one of my guinea pigs has fungus on this spot? Iain

poo - I have just moved my pig's cage it has chicken wire on the bottom and I have noiced there is a lot of poo, is there anything wrong?????? guineapigfan P.S. i only moved the cage yesterday!

why? - I do not understand why the dutch are so fond of guinea pigs! I do understand americans because they don't bark etc so they can keep them in their 'apartments'....the english because they think they are relatives from the border counties, and the scots ...
