Always said would never own a "pig" should have known , never say
never..daughter requested a skinny pig for christmas and I foolishly
gave in. Now we need to get some in depth info for these guys. Have
had rabbits, rats, ferrets, dogs, cats, reptiles so we are not new
comers to the pet game, but pigs are a new twist. Any and alll
information you guys can give me will be welcome..sites, other groups
etc.

Thanks
Elaine

Skinnies are generally as healthy and fit as any other GP and require just
about the same care - roomy cage, good quality food, continuous supply of
fresh clean water, clean bedding etc. Because of the lack of coat, you do
need to be more careful about temperature control and drafts and very
careful about sun exposure if you take them out to graze.
